About
The first secondary school-level aviation and engineering club of its kind in Trinidad and Tobago, run by students since 2022.
Founded in 2022, the Hillview College Aviation and Engineering Club was the first secondary school-level organization of its kind in Trinidad and Tobago.
The club is student-focused and built around experience, exploration and practical learning. Its aim is to show students what engineering involves beyond the classroom, and to introduce them to the range of careers the field offers.
The club has taken part in numerous engineering, robotics and STEM competitions. These allow members to apply classroom knowledge to real problems, and to develop skills in design, prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, teamwork, time management and presentation.
The club also arranges regular field trips to engineering facilities and aviation hangars.
Our approach
Members learn by taking part. Competitions, project builds and site visits sit alongside presentations and guest lectures on the theory behind them.
Engineering is a broad field with many different disciplines and career paths. The club introduces members to as many of them as it can.
Every activity is intended to leave members with a skill they can carry into their next project, and into their studies.
